Job summary

Maisha Mazuri partners with trading firms to deliver in‑house trading systems and related engineering challenges. We are seeking an experienced Rust engineer with a passion for trading to contribute to research, infrastructure, and trading logic tooling.

Ideal candidates have extensive trading experience, strong Rust skills, and excellent English communication. Familiarity with derivatives like options is a plus; roles may involve collaboration across global teams on high‑impact projects.

Job description

Our partner companies tend to be trading firms with (mostly) in-house developed trading systems. They range in sizes between 15 - 1000 FTE and trade products in both traditional markets and cryptocurrencies. For candidates with heavier experience in trading, our partners would normally ask you to focus on research and infra-related projects (e.g. backtesting infrastructure, data engineering and storage, etc.) or the development of functionalities related to trading logic (OMS, trading tools, etc.). Engineers with lighter (trading) experience tend to be considered for connectivity, risk, and back-office related engineering teams where technical challenges are less reliant on domain knowledge though this also depends on experience, need, and the interview process.

• Professional grasp of the English language (please know, our partner companies are made up of staff from all over the world most of whom who are non-native English speakers)
• Familiarity with Options or other derivatives is advantageous
