Job summary

Aeris Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Project Canary, is seeking a Software Engineer (Rust) in Hayward, CA to develop firmware for embedded systems used in laser spectroscopy sensors.

You will work with the Engineering team to read datasheets, perform board bring-up, and implement communication platforms across sensors, while contributing to design, documentation, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in CS/EE/Software Eng or related field.
• 5+ years embedded firmware development experience.
• Experience with Linux, C++, and Rust.
• Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB.
• Familiar with IoT devices and wifi/cellular connectivity.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Firmware design and development for MCU-based IoT devices.
• Maintain coding standards and revision control.
• Create and maintain design and user documentation.
• Support hardware bring-up and testing of prototypes.
• Automate configuration and testing in manufacturing.
