Job summary

Russell Standard is seeking a General Laborer to support the Pavement Preservation Team. The role involves flagging traffic, operating construction and/or power equipment for asphalt paving, and assisting with loading and unloading materials on job sites.

You'll perform routine equipment inspections, follow safety policies, and drive the company vehicle between sites, including interstate travel. Candidates should be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work long, varied hours during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• DOT Med Card (Or ability to get one prior to start date).
• DOT Flagger Training Certificate (Or ability to get one prior to start date).
• Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills.

Job Requirements

• Ability to work in a team environment with other crew members, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
• Must be available for overnight travel at job sites
• Must be able to work overtime and have a willingness to be flexible in scheduling
• Ability to work varied shifts and long hours during peak operation times (spring, summer and fall)
• Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds and recognize unsafe operating conditions
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
• Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Work Environment

Work sites are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in potentially hazardous traffic conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
