Job summary

Russell Standard is seeking a Plant Operator to support daily production and plant operations at our Akron, OH facility. You will open/close valves, perform preventive maintenance, inspect tanks, operate equipment, weigh trucks, and assist with emulsions loading while following safety policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, solid math/reading skills, and the ability to learn new tasks. A minimum of 2 years in production/maintenance or related oil and gas exposure is preferred;

Qualifications

• Two (2) years production/maintenance experience OR oil and gas industry experience OR completion of mechanical/industrial trade school program.
• Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills.

Job Requirements

• Ability to work in a team environment with laboratory and sales personnel, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Willingness to be flexible in scheduling
• Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds, occasionally enter confined spaces, tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operation
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
• Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Work Environment

This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in an asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Plants are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
