Job summary

Russell Standard is seeking a Plant Manager for its Mercer, PA facility. The role oversees day-to-day operations, directs the plant team, and ensures production targets in asphalt emulsions and related products.

You will lead safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance while driving efficiency and cost control. The Plant Manager will coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and foster a safe, compliant production environment in an outdoor plant setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years in management and/or leadership position.
• Minimum of five (5) years in construction, manufacturing, or production.
• Basic understanding of chemical and mechanical engineering.
• Solid math and reading skills, and the ability to understand technical manuals.
• Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills.
• Education in business, engineering, trades, or related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory functions.

Summary

Job Requirements

• Ability to work in and lead a team. as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Willingness to be flexible in scheduling
• Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds, occasionally enter confined spaces, tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operation
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
• Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity

Work Environment

This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in an asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Plants are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather condition. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
