Job summary

Ruskin is seeking a Production Assembler for the 2nd shift in Parsons, Kansas. This on-site role requires reading drawings and assembling sub-assemblies with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities include interpreting tape measures, assembling components, and inspecting finished products for specification compliance. High school education preferred and factory experience a plus. Union shift rules apply.

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Fabricates, assembles, installs sub-assemblies and rework products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to read and interpret a tape measure within 1/16th of an inch. Reads and interprets drawings, or cut sheets to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and assembling products. Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products. Installs sub-assemblies in supportive framework according to drawings. Inspects sub-assemblies and finished product for conformance to specifications. Rework sub-assemblies and finished product as necessary. Forward finished assembly or product to the next work area. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school education preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends as required by union contract. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
