Job description

The Batching Operator is responsible for accurately mix ingredients required for product formulations, while assisting with ingredient receiving and inventory management. This person must be capable of performing routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting quality concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be proficient with an overall knowledge of batching processing and ration flow.
• Perform ingredient receiving function when required.
• Perform scheduling and routing correct formulas.
• Perform reassigning ingredients and/or micro bins correctly following proper procedures.
• Maintain a First-In-First-Out inventory management system for bagged ingredients and become proficient with the knowledge of various bagged ingredients.
• Following protocols for maintaining accurate ingredient inventories and communicating potential shortages.
• Maintain orderly production records.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderly appearance of the mixing area.
• Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance with company policy.
• Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
• Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately.
• Participate in all safety programs.
• Operate a forklift to move material on the premises in a safe professional manner.
• Be an employee champion who will maintain a strong and positive working relationship with all employees with the utmost integrity, confidentiality, and ethical values.

Additional Job Functions:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods including on a catwalk. (Up to 66% of shift)
• Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds routinely. (Lifting 50 pounds 30-60% of shift)
• Must be capable of overhead work and manual dexterity for manipulating or moving objects. ( Up to 30% of shift)
• Must be able to climb both stairs and ladders up to a high elevation. (Up to 10% of shift)
• Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, grasp, squat, reach, and crawl. (Combined up to 30% of shift)
• Must be able to operate a forklift. (Up to 20% of shift)
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be able to perform moderate to heavy labor under constant machine operation and other noise.
