Job summary

Wallowa Memorial Hospital and Medical Clinics is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to build individualized treatment plans that support recovery, safety and quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted license from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or the ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to complete continuing education requirements in accordance with Oregon state licensing regulations

Responsibilities

  • Providing speech-language pathology services to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients
  • Evaluating and diagnosing speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Educating patients, families and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing precautions and ongoing therapy needs
  • Documenting evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and contributing to care planning and discharge processes
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
