Job summary

Mille Lacs Soil & Water Conservation District is seeking a Resource Conservationist to administer conservation programs and provide technical assistance to landowners and communities. You will promote soil and water protection while coordinating with local governments and watershed partnerships to implement BMPs.

The role requires a degree in natural resources or a related field, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to conduct fieldwork and outreach with strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in natural resources, a physical or biological science, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in conservation BMPs preferred.
• Class D Driver’s License required and background check is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Administer programs such as Wetland Conservation Act and Noxious Weed Management.
• Provide technical assistance and educational outreach to landowners and communities.
• Coordinate with local governments, lake associations, and watershed partnerships.
