The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across the lifespan in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practice. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and positive patient experience.
The Rural Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients of all ages, including urgent and emergent cases. Key responsibilities include but not limited to collaboration with medical providers, observing and evaluating patient conditions, documenting interventions and outcomes, administering therapeutic measures as ordered, and operating specialized medical equipment and computer-based health information systems. The role also involves performing patient triage, offering guidance or directing care as needed, maintaining a sterile and safe environment, and ensuring proper equipment management. Effective communication, proactive support for clinic staff and providers, and adherence to quality control and SEARHC standards is essential.
