Job summary

Community HealthCare System is seeking an orthopedic physician to provide comprehensive care in a Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital setting. The role blends rural medicine with collaborative practice focused on access, continuity, and quality.

The physician will perform procedures, coordinate referrals, and work with ED staff and rehabilitation teams to support patient-centered care across Onaga, Holton, and St. Marys clinics.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Valid medical license to practise in Kansas and DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide orthopedic consultation and care in outpatient Rural Health Clinic and inpatient CAH.
• Perform fracture care, joint injections, casting/splinting, and minor surgical procedures.
• Coordinate referrals for advanced surgical services as needed.
• Collaborate with ED, hospitalists, nurses, radiology, and rehab staff.
• Maintain compliant documentation in the EHR and adhere to rural health guidelines.
