Rural Staffing Services partners with Oregon rural hospitals, clinics, public hospital districts, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and community networks to identify experienced executives for Chief Executive Officer opportunities across Oregon.

Qualifications

• Progressive executive leadership experience in healthcare.
• Experience as CEO or senior healthcare leader (administrator, COO, CFO, CNO, etc.).
• Strong financial, operational, strategic, and organizational leadership skills.
• Experience working with boards, governing bodies, public hospital districts, or public entities.
• Experience leading rural hospitals, FQHCs, Rural Health Clinics, or community healthcare programs.
• Ability to relocate or travel regionally if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the organization.
• Partner closely with the governing board, public hospital district board, or community leadership.
• Build trust with employees, medical staff, patients, families, and community partners.
• Lead long-term planning, organizational growth, and service sustainability.
• Strengthen access to care across rural, coastal, agricultural, mountain, and frontier communities.
• Support recruitment, retention, workforce development, and leadership succession.
• Oversee financial performance, budgets, capital planning, grants, contracts, and revenue-cycle priorities.
• Help the organization navigate reimbursement, funding, regulatory, and workforce challenges.
• Support quality, safety, compliance, accreditation, and regulatory readiness.
• Develop strong relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, and department directors.
