Job summary

Vision Quest Solutions is seeking a qualified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to join the Uintah and Ouray Service Unit, Indian Health Service, in Fort Duchesne, Utah. The role entails outpatient primary care with some pediatric care, in a government-affiliated clinical setting.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, coordinating referrals, and maintaining EHR documentation while collaborating with the care team to ensure

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (ACGME- or AOA-accredited).
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Current, active, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• At least two years outpatient primary care experience after residency.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current DEA registration, where required.
• Proficiency with electronic health records.
• Strong clinical judgment and teamwork.
• Government credentialing, privileging and background screening before independent practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education.
• Provide some pediatric care within the physician’s specialty and granted clinical privileges.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Government-furnished electronic health record.
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
• Follow IHS policies, facility procedures, patient safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
