Job summary

Vienna High School hosts VISTA members who support the Impact Southern Illinois Together project by building volunteer systems, partnerships, and sustainability infrastructure across Johnson, Pope, Alexander, and Massac Counties. Members are dispatched to partner sites for capacity-building engagements rather than direct programming delivery.

VISTA volunteers help develop training, onboarding materials, recruitment plans, and volunteer recognition strategies to ensure local staff can sustain

Qualifications

• Experience conducting volunteer capacity assessments.
• Ability to design and administer volunteer recruitment and onboarding programs.
• Experience in youth development and community education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a volunteer capacity assessment.
• Design and administer a volunteer capacity assessment tool.
• Research evidence-based volunteer recruitment and coordination practices.
• Identify volunteer pools and produce a written recruitment plan.
• Develop onboarding materials and training curricula.
• Coordinate with partner staff to incorporate training content.
• Recruit and train volunteers to staff programming.
• Deliver training sessions on program expectations and safety protocols.
• Produce a volunteer training manual and a sustainability plan.
