Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is seeking a Biomedical Technician to maintain and repair high-priority medical equipment across Southeast Alaska facilities. The role involves on-site diagnostics, on-going knowledge upgrades, and coordination of installations.

The position requires an Associate’s in Biomedical Technology or Electronics, with CBET certification preferred or obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Biomedical Technology or Electronics OR equivalent training.
  • CBET certification preferred or obtainable within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience as Biomedical Technician in rural Alaska is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on general biomedical equipment and other non-medical equipment.
  • Maintain specialized medical equipment such as Imaging Radiology Systems, PACS, Telemedicine, and related devices.
  • Coordinate repairs and installation of equipment at SEARHC facilities; install new equipment.
  • Pre-purchase analysis and evaluation of new medical equipment for staff.
  • Train staff on electrical safety hazards and proper operation of equipment.
