Job summary

Shape Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build new technology from the ground up, own product development, and continuously evolve what you create for years to come. You will join a collaborative team embracing modern practices, including AI-assisted engineering, and value technical excellence, ownership, and accountability.

You will work with Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL to develop full-stack SaaS applications, shape architecture, and drive production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally SaaS or web-based products.
• Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of AWS and cloud-based application development.
• Experience owning features from design through production.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern practices.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar.
• Strong problem-solving, sound judgment, and ability to work independently with a team.
• Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build product features from initial design through testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally developing SaaS or web-based products.
