Job summary

Callaway Golf is seeking an extrusion operator to support rubber stock pre-qualification, blending and molding processes at our facility. The role involves operating extrusion equipment, handling slugs and ensuring accurate labeling and delivery to molding stations.

The position requires basic English literacy, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Training and PPE provisions are provided to maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Gather and blend and extrude pre-qualification samples of rubber stock for quality test and measurement.
• Operate extrusion equipment according to business needs.
• Deliver slugs to the proper cell for molding.
• Retrieve rubber stock from the conditioning room and deliver to extrusion process.
• Process rubber through extrusion per size/weight specs.
• Label and report production, stage for core molding delivery.
• Submit cores to quality lab from blends.
• Organize and stage empty totes for extrusion.
• Operate the mill as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies.
• Work safely with PPE and standard processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather and blend and extrude pre-qualification samples of rubber stock for quality test and measurement.
• Operate all types of extrusion equipment based on the needs of the business
• Deliver slugs to proper cell for molding
• Retrieve rubber stock from the conditioning room, confirm batch blends and deliver to the designated extrusion process.
• Process rubber through the extrusion process per required size and weight specifications
• Retrieve slugs from the extrusion process, label the product, report production, and stage for delivery to core molding.
• Gather samples and processing them as cores to submit to the quality lab as a part of the blend pre-qualification process.
• Deliver samples in slug form
• Organize and stage empty totes for extrusion process.
• Operate the mill as needed
• Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
• Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Must be able to read, write and understand English

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training in field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)

• The employee may be frequently expose to fumes or airborne particles
• The employee may be exposed to confined spaces while working on machines
• The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• The employee may be required to stand, sit, crouch, walk and bend/conform in uncomfortable positions for varying periods of time
• Will be required to use vision including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
