Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Wood working, wood finishing, or auto body & painting experience in a technical environment or completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making preferred, and/or completion of a current year youth apprenticeship program in the area of expertise.

Position Purpose: Under direct supervision, learns and performs basic fabrication skills for aircraft cabinets and other wood‑surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Learns entry‑level technical skills and knowledge, regulatory requirements and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. Continues to develop technical competency and problem‑solving abilities to progress to technician level.
2. Using safety procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools and materials (laminates, veneers, cap strips), develops proficiency in preparing and making furniture.
3. Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign‑off completed work.
4. Complies with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, uses PPE; ensures aircraft interior is protected; assists in development and implementation of related initiatives.

Other duties as assigned.

2. Can climb ladders and stairs, work in restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
3. Must be computer literate.
