Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA seeks an Acft Component Repair Tech I focused on CNC and conventional machining to repair and overhaul aircraft assemblies. You will work with mills, lathes and read blueprints, CAD models, ensuring precision and conformance to repair station standards.

The role supports both Service Center operations and broader aircraft build stages, with training provided under supervision and a shift from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Competenze

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED. Basic understanding of shop math. Sheetmetal and/or hydraulic overhaul experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD models.
  • Position requires repairing and overhauling aircraft assemblies and components under supervision.

Mansioni

  • Assist in setup of conventional and CNC machines (Mills 3/4/5-axis, lathes).
  • Determine proper cutting tools and speeds/feeds for conventional tasks.
  • Perform repairs of mechanical/electrical assemblies and subassemblies per blueprints and manuals.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and conform to FAA Repair Station requirements.

The team the candidate will be working with supports both our Service Center (conventional machining) to Special Missions, to other build stages of the aircraft with part production.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in Setup Conventional and/or CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to perform operations(Mills 3,4 and 5axis and/or lathes), computes angular dimensions where required, locates and lays out reference lines, center points, and lines.
  • Determines the proper cutting tools required. to perform machining task.
  • Selects the proper speed and feeds for conditions(conventional) .
  • Performs complex machining tasks.
  • Checks own work for conformance to specifications using precision measuring equipment.
  • Assist and trains junior level machinist.
  • Must be able to apply shop mathematics including trigonometry functions.
  • Experience operating conventional machinery including drills, grinders, milling machines and lathes.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, sketches,and cad models.
Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess basic understanding of shop math. Sheetmetal (production and/or fabrication) and/or hydraulic overhaul experience preferred.. Basic knowledge and experience with electrical theory and wiring preferred.. Position Purpose:Under close supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.

Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and apply basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.
  2. Perform repairs of mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies through removals, repair or replacement of defective parts and/or fabrication of replacement parts, and installations in accordance with blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, On The Job Training (OJT), and other authorized maintenance data. All activities to be in accordance with Repair Station requirements ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance.
  3. Set up and operate necessary test equipment in accordance with required. documentation to perform functional and operational tests of mechanical and electrical aircraft components for return to service.
  4. Inspect all detail parts using blueprints, component and/or overhaul manuals and other required. maintenance data to ensure conformity requirements are met.
  5. Maintain and utilize all required. paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
  6. Maintain a clean and orderly work area including test equipment and peripherals.
  7. Comply with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.

Additional Functions:

  1. Remove skins and related components on flight controls and secondary structure components, locate and install/reinstall parts. .
  2. Remove and install APUs and perform all required. APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models. Read and understand Gulfstream and Honeywell Maintenance Manuals regarding APU maintenance and repair. .
  3. Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components and/or equipment by rolling, shrinking, stretching, braking or other mechanical means. .
  4. Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses utilizing acceptable repair and fabrication processes including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wires. .
  5. Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices including troubleshooting, soldering and application of protective coatings. .

Perform other duties as assigned.This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
