Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice to support maintenance at Creech AFB, NV. You will work with A&P/ISR mechanics to diagnose issues, repair engines and structures, and perform maintenance checks across aircraft systems.

Responsibilities include servicing engines, inspecting components, and ensuring airworthiness. Requires high school diploma, DoD security clearance eligibility, and ability to lift heavy items; travel may be required for deployments.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals.
• Minimum of one year experience as an aircraft mechanic or equivalent duties.
• Basic knowledge of technical publications related to weapons systems and vehicles.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-focused mindset.
• Knowledge of engine operations, flight controls, electrical, pneudraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Basic familiarity with sheet metal, composites, fuels, and oils; ability to follow manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve basic maintenance problems with other A&P/ISR mechanics.
• Support safety programs and apply procedures using test equipment for airframes and engines.
• Maintain parts inventory and perform maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
• Service, repair, and overhaul aircraft equipment, engines, and subsystems to ensure airworthiness.
• Inspect and repair engine and major components, disassemble and reassemble engines as needed.
• Adjust and repair instruments, avionics, flight controls, and power/fuel systems.
