Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with extensive knowledge in acquiring real property interests for public infrastructure projects. You will lead right of way efforts, manage multiple projects, and coordinate with agencies and landowners to ensure ethical and efficient acquisitions.

The role requires 5+ years in right of way or real estate services, a 4-year degree, and a valid driver's license with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • 4-year undergraduate degree, preferred.
  • Utilities experience preferred.
  • SR/WA or other IRWA Designation preferred or the ability to obtain.
  • NY Real Estate License and/or Broker required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in right of way or real estate services for public/private agencies.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction sites and comply with safety codes.
  • Must possess a valid driver license and be willing to travel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of real estate laws and eminent domain.

Responsibilities

  • Represent client professionally with landowners.
  • Research public records to determine property ownership.
  • Adhere to Client and Company procedures, safety standards, and PPE.
  • Document landowner communications and relay concerns to management.
  • Serve as notary for legal signatures."
  • Ensure documents are processed timely for recording.
  • Discuss design alternatives with landowners and PM when applicable.
  • Negotiate land rights and prepare work plans and budgets as directed.
  • Monitor time schedules and budgets, oversee project teams and deliverables.
  • Ensure QA/QC standards are followed and project procedures are adhered to.
  • Coordinate communications across project teams to maintain high utilization.
  • Review monthly man-hours and cost reports for project goals.
  • Assist in preparing for public hearings and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Billing to authorize and transmit bills to clients and follow up on payments.
