ACRT, Inc. is seeking Ready Force employees—Roving Utility Foresters—to start in Florida. The role involves inspecting trees along utility lines, documenting work with handheld GIS tools, and coordinating between clients, crews, and customers while prioritizing safety.

Qualified candidates have forestry or related degrees or relevant experience, may travel extensively (6–8 weeks at a time), and must reside in Florida. Company provides training and benefits; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

  • In lieu of a degree, 2 years of Utility Vegetation Management or related experience accepted.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; substitution of 5 years of experience allowed.
  • Experience with GIS-integrated data collection software/hardware preferred.

  • Perform identification and inspection of trees along utility lines.
  • Document work using handheld computers and GIS integrated software.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers to balance safety and budgetary concerns.

Ready Force employees work on short-term projects, quick start-ups, storm work, or simply fill in for positions on contracts across the state.Our Roving Utility Forester position is ideal for candidates with a background in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture, environmental studies and natural resources, or a related discipline. Experience and willingness to work outdoors in all weather and dynamic terrain is a must. Must reside in the area and be able to do overnight travel within the state of Florida.As a roving forester, you will be responsible for:Performing identification and inspection of trees along utility linesDocumenting work using handheld computers and GIS integrated softwareServing as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers to balance safety, budgetary, and community relation concernsThe safety of yourself and your team. Safety is the most important focus of ACRTRequirements:2 or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field (Ex. general Right-of-Way management, Integrated Vegetation Management, nursery work or timber cutting, etc.).
