Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking a productive Machine Operator to setup and process plywood parts through routers and wood cutting equipment. You will ensure parts meet prints and specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities include reading prints, calibrating machines, and performing quality checks. The role emphasizes safety with LO/TO procedures and a commitment to quality for our furniture manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the duties.
• Ability to read part prints, tape measures, calipers and depth gauges.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate computerized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and change over machines to print specs.
• Feed wood stock and monitor cutting for accuracy.
• Perform quality checks and read measurement tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace following 5S standards.

Job Summary: Setup and process plywood parts through routers and other wood cutting machines. Cut parts to fit specifications designated in part prints.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtains work order to determine parts to be processed
• Setup, calibrate and changeover machine to print specifications
• Feeds wood stock through machine to create specified parts
• Monitor machine for proper cutting, drilling, etc.
• Quality checks parts per control plan
• Reads parts prints, tape measure, caliper, and depth gauges to check specifications
• Counts and records part quantities; completes timesheets
• Moves finished parts to storage location
• Perform Daily/Weekly preventative maintenance tasks
• Certified and trained on proper LO/TO procedures.
• Follows health and safety standards
• Maintains a clean workplace following 5S standards
• Performs other tasks as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read parts prints, tape measure, caliper, and depth gauges
• Mechanical knowledge is preferred to help troubleshoot problems
• Ability to work with computerized equipment
• PIV License as needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
