Performance Food Group is seeking a Router to develop and manage delivery routes, optimize driver schedules, and work with Roadnet and other systems to ensure efficient operations. The role involves coordinating with drivers, sales, transportation, and warehouse teams to maintain accurate route data and timely deliveries.
The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in foodservice distribution or routing, basic MS Office skills, and a strong eye for detail.
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.
Sunday- Thursday; 1pm until routing completed.
The Router position is an individual contributor role responsible for creating routes, managing routes, calculating delivery routes, times of deliveries and makes the necessary adjustments for drivers and customers. The Router role reports to the Transportation Delivery Director or Routing Supervisor and normally works a Sunday through Thursday shift. The Router role works with numerous routing and software systems. The Router role requires strong attention to detail and process skills. The Router may interact with drivers, sales, transportation, truck building ,warehouse and customer service personnel at management discretion. The Router functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.
