Job summary

Northwest Exterminating in Burlington, NC is seeking a Route Support/Wildlife Technician to join our outdoor, independent work team. You’ll protect homes and businesses, build strong customer relationships, and grow professionally through our extensive training and supportive culture.

No prior experience is required, but you must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to work independently on route-based assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform exterior and interior crawlspace inspections and related documentation.
• Follow safety standards and operate company equipment and vehicles.

Your Responsibilities:

• Customer Relationships: Build strong connections with internal and external customers, creating “Customers for Life.”
• Support the Team: You’ll work on pre- and post-construction termite treatments and monitor termite bait systems. Assist service professionals with pest control, mosquito treatments, termite inspections, Crawlspace Services & Wildlife services.
• Wildlife Services: Provide wildlife exclusion services and animal removal at customer locations.
  • Set up exclusion traps, cut flashing, and form hardware cloth to specifications.
  • Work safely on rooftops and use a safety harness when needed.
  • Perform basic repairs in areas damaged by animals using tools, sheet metal, and screening.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding wildlife exclusion and removal.
• Crawlspace Duties: Handle the day-to-day operations of your route with excellent time management skills.
  • Complete Exterior and Interior inspections of the crawlspace, before and after work is completed.
  • Ensure Completion of documentation and work comply with Northwest Standard
• Customer Problem-Solving: Anticipate and address customer needs, providing tailored solutions that ensure ongoing satisfaction.
• Work Safely and Efficiently: Adhere to safety standards and regulations while operating company equipment and vehicles. Apply pest control products in compliance with label standards.
• Collaborate for Excellence: Partner with internal teams like customer service, sales, and management to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

Physical Demands / Working Environment:

Candidates must meet physical job requirements and safely perform the job duties with or without accommodations:

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods. Travel may include short stops or longer routes between counties or service areas.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and manage route-based assignments
• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer’s weight capacity
• Able to lift and move ladders larger than 32 foot, and climb 60 feet
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
