Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a CDL Class B route driver to cover daily deliveries, merchandising, and order placement to ensure our products are available on store shelves. Early mornings, Monday through Friday with some weekend travel as needed.

You will unload and stock products, promote new items, and use handheld devices to complete daily tasks while building strong in-store relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• DSD, grocery, delivery or warehouse experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement; 21+ years old.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds and handle frozen products safely.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide route coverage and deliver product to stores.
• Place orders and drive additional sales by promoting products.
• Unload, stock back room, and collect proof of delivery.
• Merchandise, maintain displays, rotate products.
• Use handheld devices and sales software for daily tasks.
• Build in-store relationships in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to DOT rules and perform truck inspections.

What You Will Do

In this CDL Class B position, you provide route coverage while delivering product, placing orders, and merchandising product to ensure our products are available on store shelves for grocery shoppers. In addition, this position provides opportunities to develop the leadership skills needed for leadership positions.

• Work a Monday -- Friday schedule (some weekend travel required at times); early morning start time
• Unload products, place product in the back room, and collect proof of delivery
• Place orders and drive additional sales by gaining display space and promoting new products
• Merchandise product, maintain display space, and rotate product
• Use handheld technology and sales software to complete daily work
• Build in-store relationships and work effectively with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain DOT rules and regulations and perform truck inspections

What We Look For

• Previous DSD, grocery, delivery, or warehouse experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and ability to meet medical certification requirements; must be 21 years or older
• Ability to safely lift 35 pounds and move frozen product using appropriate equipment
• Ability to meet pre-employment background check, drug test, and DOT physical requirements
