Job summary

Schwan's Company is immediately hiring for a CDL Class B route position in Maryland. You will deliver products, place orders, and merchandise to ensure optimal shelf availability for shoppers.

Monday–Friday with some weekend travel and an early start, plus opportunities for leadership development. Qualified candidates have a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement, a High School diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license with airbrake endorsement
• Must be 21 years or older
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to meet pre-employment background check, drug test, and DOT physical

Responsibilities

• Provide route coverage while delivering product and merchandising.
• Work a Monday–Friday schedule with some weekend travel.
• Unload products and collect proof of delivery.
• Place orders and drive additional sales by gaining display space.
• Merchandise product and rotate stock in-store displays.
• Use handheld devices and sales software for daily tasks.
• Build in-store relationships and work with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain DOT rules and perform truck inspections

What You Will Do

• In this CDL Class B position, you provide route coverage while delivering product, placing orders, and merchandising product to ensure our products are available on store shelves for grocery shoppers. In addition, this position provides opportunities to develop the leadership skills needed for leadership positions.
• Work a Monday -- Friday schedule (some weekend travel required at times); early morning start time
• Unload products, place product in the back room, and collect proof of delivery
• Place orders and drive additional sales by gaining display space and promoting new products
• Merchandise product, maintain display space, and rotate product
• Use handheld technology and sales software to complete daily work
• Build in-store relationships and work effectively with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain DOT rules and regulations and perform truck inspections

What We Look For

• Previous DSD, grocery, delivery, or warehouse experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and ability to meet medical certification requirements; must be 21 years or older
• Ability to safely lift 35 pounds and move frozen product using appropriate equipment
• Ability to meet pre-employment background check, drug test, and DOT physical requirements
