Job summary

Bimbo Bakeries USA in Illinois is seeking a Route Sales Professional to merchandise, stock, and rotate products on store shelves to guarantee the best quality and freshness. You’ll drive sales by securing new display space, coordinating promotions, and building strong customer relationships across our retail accounts.

The role starts early with a 1st shift (3:00 am) and includes travel along routes, daily settlement, DOT logs, and strict attention to inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Chauffer License may be required depending on location (IN, MI, TN).
• Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and frequent reaching.
• 1-3 years of DSD experience preferred.
• English language proficiency to converse with the public and read reports.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise, stock, and ensure proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays.
• Drive sales by securing new display space and optimizing shelf presence.
• Follow up on new account opportunities and develop customer relationships.
• Introduce new products and services to maximize sales within existing or new accounts.
• Perform daily route settlements for products, invoices, and cash with accurate counts.
• Safely drive the route truck and complete DOT daily logs.
• Submit required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Merchandise, stock, and ensure the proper rotation of products on store shelves and displays to guarantee the best quality and freshness.
• Drive sales by securing new display space, setting up incremental displays, and using sales data to inform store-level strategies.
• Follow up on new account opportunities and build strong customer relationships while ensuring the execution of promotions.

• Safely drive the company route truck and complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily logs.
• Submit other required documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time.

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Successfully able to obtain Chauffer License (If job location is in IN, MI, TN).
• Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers.
• 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred.
• Consistent with United States Department of Transportation regulations, the ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
