Job summary

Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. is seeking a Route Sales Driver to deliver and sell dairy products on assigned routes. You will collect payments, complete delivery records, and inform customers about new products while maintaining a clean, safe vehicle and professional conduct.

Requirements include a valid Class A CDL, age 21+, and successful DOT physical/drug screening. A strong driving record and prior route sales experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Class A commercial driver's license.

• Pass D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen.
• Past route sales experience preferred.
• Good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck over routes to deliver and sell dairy products to customers.
• Collect money, make change, and record transactions.
• Prepare orders and sales contracts.
• Inform regular customers of new products or services.
• Resolve service complaints and maintain truck cleanliness.
• Load/unload products and set up displays as needed.
• Travel safely and maintain good customer relations.

Position Overview

The Route Sales Driver shall be responsible for, but not limited to:

Drives truck over various routes to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting money from customers, making change, and recording transactions on the customer receipt.
• Recording sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
• Calling prospective customers to solicit new business.
• Preparing order forms and sales contracts.
• Informing regular customers of new products or services.
• Listening to and resolving service complaints.
• Performing routine maintenance on truck.
• Keeping inside of truck clean.
• Loading and unloading product.
• Issuing sales promotion materials to customers.
• Placing stock on shelves or racks.
• Setting up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
• Collecting or picking up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
• Working in a safe courteous manner.
• Driving in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications

• Class A commercial driver’s license.
• 21 years of age.
• Pass D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen.

The following is preferred:

• Past route sales experience.
• Good driving record.

Working Conditions

• He or she will be required to travel outside moving from building to building in whatever the conditions are from time to time.
• Ability to stand, bend, sit, and move throughout the day.
• Will have to stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
