Job summary

Spee-Dee Delivery Service is seeking a Route Driver in Missouri to represent the company while delivering and picking up freight. You will load deliveries, inspect the vehicle, and maintain a clean, professional appearance. The role includes potential overtime and weekend OT as needed.

The starting wage is $20.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience. A valid license, good driving record, and ability to pass a DOT physical are required.

Job Summary

The Route Driver is responsible for representing the company while making deliveries and picking up freight.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route
• 10-15 hours of overtime may be expected each week
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Possess good customer service and can work independently

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
