Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is hiring a driver for a 26-foot box truck in Grand Rapids, MI. You will collect and deliver medical waste containers, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain safe operations on routes up to 26 or 53 feet.

Role offers autonomy, steady hours, potential overtime, and a competitive salary with a $3k sign-on bonus. Benefits are included from day one for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Class B license required.
• Willingness to work full-time hours, approx. 40 hours per week.
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
• Passing 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing medical waste containers at customer locations.
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships.
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (26 ft box trucks; up to 53 ft when needed).
• Completing deliveries to schedule and communicating changes or challenges.
• Loading and unloading; organizing the truck per schedule.
• Managing routes per leadership direction and delivering timely service.
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections.
• Heavy lifting is required.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver who can operate a box truck (26 feet) across the Grand Rapids, MI area starting at (4081 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 48512). You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained. This position is offering a $3k sign-on bonus for new hires. $1k paid after 30 days of employment and $2k paid after 90 days of employment!

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting
• Class B license required
• Delivery experience within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling (advantageous not mandatory)
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box trucks)
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
