Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Route Driver to operate a semi-truck or vacuum truck, collecting animal mortalities, fat and bone, or grease from customer sites.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, DOT log maintenance, route administration, and customer service. The role requires a valid CDL with tanker endorsements and a clean driving record, with flexibility for varying routes and shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 21 years or older with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• CDL A with tanker endorsements; CDL B may be required by route.

Responsibilities

• Collects and inspects raw material at pickup for foreign or hazardous material.
• Maintain vehicle and operate in accordance with regulations and safety rules.
• Complete route tickets and daily vehicle inspection reports with signatures.
• Provide receipts to customers and obtain management signature at location.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections and maintain daily vehicle condition reports.
• Maintain excellent customer relations with professional service.
• Hours may include nights/weekends and may serve on Safety Committee.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Dependent on plant location, may pump or load grease containers; ensure cleanliness of container and surrounding area; returns container with screen and lock secured; notes any damages to container or corral area; properly completes route ticket with customer signature

• Provides customer with receipt of pick-up and obtains signature of management at location.
• Responsible for company vehicle;maintainsvehicle in cleanestpossible manner; operates vehiclein accordance withCompany, federal,stateand local regulations

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years old with clean Motor Vehicle Record
• CDL A license holder with tanker endorsements (dependent on route)
• CDL B license holder (dependent on route)
• Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred.
• Works well with others in a team environment.
• Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance
• Experience with truck hydraulics is a plus
• Strong computer and basic math skills.
