Job summary

Southeastern Food Merchandisers is seeking dependable Route Delivery Drivers with a Class A CDL for local home-daily deliveries in Pelham, Alabama. Drivers operate on established routes, depart from and return to the same terminal, and report to the Transportation Supervisor for daily assignments.

Responsibilities include safe operation of the delivery vehicle, accurate scanning, unloading at customer locations, and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Acceptable driving record with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the previous three years
• Must have a current, valid DOT Medical Card

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle while completing multi-stop delivery routes according to schedules
• Provide timely and accurate deliveries to customer locations (restaurants and designated points)
• Unload products from the trailer and transport merchandise into the customer’s storage area
• Accurately scan products during the delivery process per company procedures
• Verify delivered merchandise and identify damaged, missing, or incorrect items
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors, trucks, and trailers per DOT requirements
• Maintain compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures
• Promptly report vehicle concerns, unsafe conditions, accidents, delivery issues, or other safety hazards to the Transportation Supervisor
• Handle products carefully during unloading and delivery to minimize damage and maintain product quality
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and follow established procedures for each customer stop

Southeastern Food Merchandisers is seeking dependable Route Delivery Drivers with a Class A CDL to join our Transportation team. This is a local delivery position with no over-the-road driving, allowing drivers to return home each day.

Drivers operate on established route schedules, departing from and returning to the same terminal each shift.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle while completing assigned multi-stop delivery routes according to established schedules.
• Provide timely and accurate deliveries to customer locations, including restaurants and other designated delivery points.
• Unload products from the trailer and transport merchandise into the customer’s designated storage area.
• Accurately scan products during the delivery process in accordance with company procedures.
