Job summary

Life Flight Network is seeking a Rotor Wing Pilot to safely operate helicopters for critical patient transport. The role requires strong aviation expertise, safety focus, and excellent communication under pressure.

You will work varied shifts, including days and nights, with travel across LFN’s service area. Competitive pay, sign-on bonus, housing support, and relocation assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 5 years’ experience as a professional pilot preferred.
• FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating required.
• Must have and maintain FAA second class flight physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate aircraft professionally and safely to facilitate care of critically ill or injured patients.
• Perform pre- and post-flight inspections and plan flights.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and crew in stressful situations.
• Travel as required within LFN’s service area.

• Salary Range of $123,461.52 - 145,869.35 DOE to start with annual increases given every year on your anniversary date.
• Sign On Bonus of $10,000.00 paid once you complete your initial checkride.

The Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for LFN to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. Rotor Wing Pilots possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations. The Rotor Wing Pilot will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 5 years’ experience as a professional pilot preferred
• 2000 hours Total Time required
• 1500 hours Pilot in Command
• 1000 R/W Turbine hours required
• 75 Instrument hours total – with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required
• 100 hours of nighttime required
• Pilots with air medical transportation experience preferred
• Pilots with NVG experience preferred
• Mountain experience preferred. Experience evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.
• Must hold FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating
• Must have and maintain FAA second class flight physical
• Performs pre- and post‑flight inspections. Plans flights, assists in loading of passengers, baggage and cargo, and analyzes weather conditions
• Maintains logs and records, as required, and prepares written reports
• Operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent grammar; verbal and written communication, and customer service skills
• Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area is required
• Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy requirements and able to travel whenever or wherever business needs necessitate
