Job summary

Life Flight Network is seeking a Rotor Wing Pilot to safely operate aircraft in support of critical patient care. The role requires planning flights, loading passengers, and maintaining logs while delivering exceptional customer service in high-stress environments.

Candidates should hold an FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Rating, with 2,000 hours total time and 1,000 hours rotor wing time.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Rating required/preferred depending on role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate rotor wing aircraft safely and professionally to facilitate patient care.
  • Perform pre- and post-flight inspections, plan flights, and assist in loading passengers and cargo.
  • Maintain logs and reports; travel as needed within LFN’s service area.

The Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for LFN to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. The Rotor Wing Pilot will possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations. The Rotor Wing Pilot will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years’ experience as a professional pilot preferred
  • 2000 hours Total Time required
  • 1500 hours as Pilot in Command
  • 1000 hours R/W Turbine time required
  • 100 hours instrument time preferred
  • 75 Instrument hours total – with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required
  • 100 hours of unaided nighttime required
  • Pilots with air medical transportation experience preferred
  • Pilots with NVG experience preferred
  • Mountain experience preferred. Experience evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must hold a FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Must have and maintain a FAA second class flight physical
  • Performs pre- and post-flight inspections. Plans flights, assists in loading of passengers, baggage and cargo, and analyzes weather conditions.
  • Maintains logs and records, as required, and prepares written reports
  • Operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent grammar; verbal and written communication, and customer service skills
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area is required
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy requirements and able to travel whenever or wherever business needs necessitate
