Job summary

VIAVI Solutions offers a two-year rotation program in our R&D Excellence Centers, where you’ll develop cutting-edge test, monitoring and assurance technologies for telecommunications and wireless networks. You will contribute to waveform and HDL work, learn from experienced engineers, and rotate across teams to broaden your skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, Physics, Applied Mathematics or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of C or C++, and comfortable in a Linux environment.
• Coursework, project or research in two of: signals/DSP, RF/microwave/communication theory, digital logic HDL, embedded/real-time systems.
• Scripting and modelling in Python or MATLAB.
• Engineering experience outside the classroom — internship, co-op, research, hackathon, competition team or personal project.
• Ability to work in a collaborative Agile team and to relocate to another VIAVI location.

Responsibilities

• Modern C++ on Linux inside an SCA 4.1 core framework and APIs.
• Advanced VHDL on the digital chain for up/down conversion, filtering and DSP.
• Path design: LO planning, synthesis, and calibration for wide frequency ranges.
• Prototype algorithms, validate with captured data, and hand off to FPGA/Software teams.
