Job summary

Ebara Elliott Energy in California is seeking a skilled technician to disassemble, repair, balance, and reassemble turbomachinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and gear boxes. You will read blueprints, perform dynamic balancing, turbine blade re-blades, and verify critical clearances per Elliott specifications.

Candidates should have at least 5 years in turbomachinery repairs, a strong mechanical background, and familiarity with manual machining.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in turbomachinery repairs.
• Strong mechanical background required.
• Completion of a trade school or apprenticeship would be beneficial.
• Manual machining experience is a plus.
• Comparable experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Perform dynamic balance of rotating equipment.
• Re-blade turbine rotor disks and peen blade tenons to Elliott specs.
• Inspect critical clearances on turbines and compressors (bearings, seals).
• Disassemble, clean/blast, inspect, repair, and assemble rotating equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, gear boxes).
• Safely operate overhead cranes, hydraulic torque wrenches, forklifts, cut-off saws, portable machining equipment, heating/cutting torches, balance machines, sand blast booth, steam cleaner.
• Safely operate power hand tools (drills, grinders, hydraulic presses, punch presses, saws).
• Read/Evaluate Elliott procedures, specs, bulletins and other documents.
• Document work scopes, inspections, hold tags, photo logs, turnover logs.
• Observe all safety regulations; participate in safety committee if required.
• Maintain a clean/organized work area.
• Perform or assist with non-destructive testing to Elliott specs.
• Welding experience is preferred.
