Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville, NC is seeking an Assembly Technician for the 2nd shift to support rotary screw and centrifugal air compressor packages. You will assemble, test, and troubleshoot while interpreting engineering drawings to ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of testing experience in manufacturing/aerospace or similar environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods (8 hours) and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to use correct tooling, fixturing and equipment to meet engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Use computer software to control tests and analyze data per acceptance criteria.
  • Layout, assemble, and install electrical cabling, instrumentation and piping for water cooling and compressed air systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair or replace instrumentation and product hardware after test failures; interpret drawings and BOMs.
  • Ensure tools are calibrated and report discrepancies to supervisor; perform duties with limited supervision.

Job Overview:

This is a Rotary Test Technician role supporting the build and functional test of rotary screw and centrifugal air compressor packages. This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a company that values creativity, excellence, and collaboration

Responsibilities:
  • Use computer software programs for controlling tests and analyze test data per acceptance criteria.
  • Layout, assemble, and install required electrical supply cabling, instrumentation, hose connections to water cooling systems, and compressed air outlet piping.
  • Troubleshoot and repair or replace instrumentation and/or product hardware due to test failures and read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents.
  • Ensures that all tools used in performing job duties are within calibration, as stated on calibration sticker. Where discrepancies arise, immediate notification of supervisor occurs and performs job duties with limited supervision.
  • Uses problem solving skills (identify problems and respond correctly). Shall be capable of performing disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies.
  • Exhibits a high degree of manual dexterity with great attention to detail and workmanship and demonstrate use of calipers, dial, indicators, precision measuring devices.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 2 years of testing experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or similar environment
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum and able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to use correct tooling, fixturing and equipment to perform work tasks to engineering specifications.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
  • This position will be fully site based at our facility in Mocksville, NC.
