Job summary

Packaging-Corporation-of-America in Illinois is seeking a 2nd shift production lead to supervise a machine crew, perform setups and changeovers, and ensure quality. This role focuses on reducing downtime, maintaining safety, and meeting production targets.

The ideal candidate has a manufacturing background, strong mechanical aptitude, and good communication. You’ll work on a fast-paced line, handle overtime/weekends as needed, and coordinate with team members to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work 2nd shift and overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine crew with setups and changeovers by mounting printing plates and/or cutting dies.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets required dimensions and there are zero material defects.
• Support manufacturing operations to increase productivity, reduce downtime and waste.
• Follow all safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform other duties as assigned.

This position is for 2nd Shift (3:00PM - 11:00PM)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity, decreasing downtime and waste.
• Responsible for leading machine crew with setups and changeovers by mounting printing plates and/or cutting dies.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets required dimensions and there are zero material defects.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Problem solve when issues arise with machine.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and possess problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a packaging environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
