Job summary

Acuren Inspection in Baton Rouge is seeking a Painter for project-based work. You will apply coatings, operate a wet paint gun, and support surface preparation, blasting, and quality checks.

Candidates should know coating materials, read blueprints, use gauges, and follow safety guidelines. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of coating materials, application techniques, and curing processes.
• Experience with paint and industrial equipment.
• Experience using a wet paint gun, hand and power tools, and other painting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
• Ability to read and use coating thickness gauges, surface profile gauges, dew point meters, soluble salt testers, and hardness gauges.

Position Summary

Acuren Inspection is now hiring hard working, dependable Painter to work on a project basis to start as soon as possible.

The Technician is responsible for carrying out duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Have a comprehensive knowledge Painting/Blasting
• Assist other technicians as required
• Perform specific job functions as they relate to work orders
• Ensure operational safety of all equipment

Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of coating materials, application techniques, and curing processes
• Experience with paint and industrial equipment
• Experience using a wet paint gun, hand and power tools, and other painting equipment
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
• The ability to read and use coating thickness gages, surface profile gages, dew point meters, soluble salt testers, and hardness or ultrasonic thickness gages
• Previous pipeline experience preferred
• NCCER Painter certification a plus
• NACE certification a plus

Working Conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Extreme cold and extreme heat environmental conditions, in and near hazards to include proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places in excess of 100 feet, exposure to high heat, extreme cold, or exposure to chemicals, in conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
• Adaptable to changing schedules with willingness to travel regularly, including last minute and overnight travel.Must be willingtoovertime.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS:

• Ability to withstand physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions including extreme temperatures, heights, and limited visibility for extended periods of time
• Navigate industrial environments using rope systems and climbing equipment, requiring strong lower body mobility, balance, and mental strength for continuous concentration
• Meet occupational vision and hearing requirements to safely perform essential job functions
• Physical endurance such as climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting regularly
• Ability to lift and carrying up to 30 pounds regularly, 60+ pounds on occasion
• Ability to maneuverfrequentlywithin confined spaces, crawl spaces, shafts, small, enclosed rooms, pipelines, and other areas that may induce claustrophobia
• Withstand loud noise and able to work long workdays of up to 16 consecutive hours in one day.
• Physical stamina for extended periods of rope suspension
• Manual dexterity for technical rope work and tool handling, with regular stress to hand and fingers
