Responsibilities

  • Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to hotel standards.
  • Replace linens and towels, make beds, and restock room supplies.
  • Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, clean windows, and ensure surfaces are spotless and sanitary.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from rooms and dispose of them properly.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
  • Handle guest requests professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to training.
  • Maintain room quotas and keep housekeeping carts in good condition.

Job description

As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in guest rooms and public areas. You play a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction by creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned public areas to hotel standards.
  • Replace linens and towels, make beds, and restock room supplies such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and beverages.
  • Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, clean windows, and ensure all surfaces are spotless and sanitary.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from rooms and dispose of them properly.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost-and-found items to the appropriate department.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
  • Handle guest requests or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to supervisors when necessary.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly and in accordance with training and safety standards.
  • Ensure daily assigned room quotas are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Maintain equipment and housekeeping carts in clean and good working condition.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel cleaning is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
