Position: Room Attendant

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms, maintaining cleanliness of guest floors and public areas, and assisting with overall hotel cleanliness. Other duties may be assigned as needed within the department.

Essential Functions:
  • Sort, count, fold, and carry linens
  • Clean multiple rooms daily, including changing linens, making beds, dusting, bathroom cleaning, vacuuming, polishing furniture and fixtures
  • Replenish supplies such as glasses and writing materials
  • Clean corridors and stairways
  • Sweep and scrub bathroom floors
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dust furniture, wash walls, windows, and woodwork
  • Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, transport waste to disposal area
  • Replenish bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs
  • Scrub bathroom fixtures and mirrors
  • Perform quality checks on room amenities
  • Handle items left behind and report maintenance issues
  • Use supplies and equipment carefully
  • Wear proper uniform at all times
  • Achieve a score of 90% or higher on room inspections
  • Greet guests politely and acknowledge them
  • Know hotel products and local area information to assist guests
  • Organize and stock carts efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • Respond promptly to guest requests
  • Use guest names when entering occupied rooms
  • Check the status of vacant rooms daily
  • Keep supply room organized
  • Display teamwork and assist co-workers as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Ability to follow simple instructions
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Teamwork orientation
Physical Demands:
  • Regular standing, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, climbing, and talking
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Effective use of vision
  • Ability to work under stress
Qualifications:
