Job summary

Godby Hearth & Home is hiring an installer to set up gas and wood-burning hearth products in a full-time, year-round role in Indianapolis. The position offers 45 hours per week (Mon-Fri 7:30am–5pm) with some overtime on weekends during busy seasons, plus a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, identity theft protection, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Experience installing fireplace systems per standards and local codes.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs.
• Lift 75+ lbs; teamwork can lift over 200 lbs.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and company policies.
• Read and interpret driver manuals, blueprints, and framing specs.
• Own a valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install fireplace systems as required by Godby standards, manufacturer instructions, and local codes.
• Review instruction manuals prior to installing products and maintain knowledge of installed items.
• Support showroom maintenance and update displays.
• Perform site inspections and take final measurements for proper product application.
• Complete required paperwork for each job.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners and general contractors to ensure expectations are met.

Godby Hearth & Home is seeking a highly motivated individual to install gas and wood burning hearth products. We’ve crafted company guidelines to utilize manufacturer specifications, architectural drawings, safety manuals. This is a full-time year-round position with optional overtime during the busy season.

• This position will pay $19 – $25 per hour, scaling with experience.
• You will work from 7:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday (45 hours per week). There will be some weekends available during the busy season for overtime.

• This job also requires that you be able to lift 75+ lbs. individually, and in some cases over 200 lbs. lifting as a team.
• A strong attention to details and solid time management skills to prioritize project deadlines.
• General mechanical aptitude required. This includes using multiple power and hand tools proficiently.
• An understanding of gas and electrical connections is preferred, but not necessary.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints and framing specifications, as well as some light framing skills.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• An ability to use critical thinking for resolutions of jobsite installations.
• Valid driver’s license – no DUI in background check (insurance requirement).
