Job summary

Simon Roofing in Columbus, OH seeks a Roofing Service Manager to oversee field-based commercial and industrial roofing projects. You will perform hands-on repairs or evaluations, coordinate preventative maintenance, and guide safety and quality on job sites.

The role emphasizes strong work ethic, dependability, and clear communication, with opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and advancement into supervisory roles as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in commercial roofing or related construction.
• Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra/geometry.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Travel willingness for local work and ability to work weekends/holidays in emergencies.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Make hands-on repairs or provide repair recommendations and perform Preventative Maintenance on low-slope roofing systems.
• Follow safety protocols on site and while driving.
• Communicate clearly and persuasively in different situations; listen for clarification.
• Complete tasks on time and follow management directions.
• Drive a company vehicle to client sites daily.

Roofing Service Manager

Who you are:

As a Roofing Service Manager for commercial & industrial roofing systems, you are a person with a strong work ethic, and extensive knowledge of various roofing systems. We are looking for candidates who are interested in growing with the company. This growth can be thru experience, monetarily, or in a potential Supervisory/Branch Management role. In this role you would be working out in the field much of the time, with some office work involved. Simon Roofing is a roofing industry leader with over 125 years in business with 66 locations throughout the USA. We specialize in roofing service, restorations, and replacements. What We Offer:

• TOP OF INDUSTRY PAY…$30.00 to $38.00 per hour range, On Average our Service Managers make $85,000+ per year.
• Forty & more hours per week (with overtime work and pay of 10-15 hours per week).

What you'll do:

• Expected to be able make hands on repairs and/or repair recommendations, perform evaluations and roofing Preventative Maintenance to low slope roofing systems.
• Always followsafetyon the job and while driving.
• Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
• Dependability: Completes tasks on time; Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
• Drives a company vehicle to clients’ buildings daily.

What you'll need:

• Minimum Three (3) +years of experience in the commercial roofing industry or related relevant construction experience
• Basic knowledge of computers including Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Must have the ability to calculate figures and be able to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record to be cleared to drive a company vehicle.
• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Ability to travel when local work is not available.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays in emergency situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively through written correspondence and verbally in English.

Physical Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis throughout the day.
• Must be able to frequently ascend/descend ladder up to 40 feet.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in varied extreme weather condition (extreme hot and extreme cold weather).
• Load and unload material and equipment from variant heights.
• Load material and equipment from vehicles on and off the roof.
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with a host and clean work area.
• Shovel loose materials such as gravel, sand metal snow, or dirt.
