Job summary

Rain Defense, a Bay Area roofing contractor, is seeking a field-first leader to oversee multiple roofing crews under the Superintendent. This role fits a current Foreman ready to manage foremen and crews, or a Roofing Manager already leading teams who wants to join a high-growth squad.

You will be the on-site point of contact for materials, training, staffing, and daily leadership, ensuring safety, QA/QC, and warranty compliance while delivering projects across the SF Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years roofing experience, including 2+ years as a Foreman.
• Knowledge of torch/modified bitumen, shingles, single-ply, TPO, and waterproofing fundamentals.
• People-first leader who enjoys managing, coaching, and holding standards.
• Reads plans/specs; rock-solid safety mindset.
• CA driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and schedule crews/foremen; run daily huddles and weekly look-aheads.
• Track production closely; forecast labor surplus/shortfall and rebalance manpower.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain high-quality crew members; build bench strength.
• Drive safety (Cal/OSHA), QA/QC, and spec compliance on every job.
• Perform roof inspections for new business and document findings (photos/reports).
• Meet vendor/manufacturer reps on site to inspect work for warranty certifications.
• Own crew logistics: materials/equipment issues, training questions, and field problem-solving.
• Support small change-order scoping; close punch lists and warranty items.

About The Role

Report to our Superintendent and lead the safe, productive work of multiple roofing crews. This is a field-first management role for either (1) a current Foreman ready to step up to managing foremen and crews, or (2) a Roofing Manager already leading foremen who wants to join a high-performing team. You’ll be the point of contact for all crew-related needs—materials, training, staffing, and day‑to‑day roofing leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Expert working knowledge of torch/modified bitumen, shingles, single-ply, TPO, and other commercial systems; flashing & waterproofing fundamentals.
• People-first leader who enjoys managing, coaching, and holding standards.
• Reads plans/specs; rock-solid safety mindset.
• CA driver’s license & reliable transportation.
• Comfortable with phone/tablet apps for time, photos, and reports; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

SCHEDULE & AREA

Full-time, primarily Mon-Fri with occasional early starts or Saturdays as needed. Projects throughout the SF Bay Area.

RESUMEN DEL PUESTO

Reportará al Superintendente y dirigirá el trabajo seguro y productivo de varias cuadrillas de techado. Puesto de gestión en campo ideal para (1) un Capataz actual listo para ascender a manejar capataces y cuadrillas, o (2) un Gerente de Techos que ya lidera capataces y desea unirse a un equipo de alto desempeño. Será el punto de contacto para todo lo relacionado con las cuadrillas: materiales, capacitación, personal y liderazgo diario.

RESPONSABILIDADES

• Dirigir, entrenar y programar cuadrillas/capataces; reuniones diarias y plan semanal.
• Seguir la producción de cerca; pronosticar exceso/escasez de mano de obra y reasignar personal.
• Reclutar, contratar, incorporar y retener miembros de cuadrilla de alto nivel.
• Cumplir con seguridad (Cal/OSHA), control de calidad y especificaciones.
• Realizar inspecciones de techos para nuevos trabajos y documentar hallazgos (fotos/informes).
• Reunirse con representantes de fabricantes para inspecciones y certificaciones de garantía.
• Atender la logística de cuadrillas: materiales/equipo, dudas de capacitación y solución de problemas en campo.
• Apoyar con órdenes de cambio pequeñas; cerrar pendientes y garantías.

REQUISITOS

• 5+ años en techado y 2+ años como Capataz (comercial o multi-familia).
• Dominio práctico de torch/mod bit, tejas, single-ply, TPO y otros sistemas comerciales; láminas y trabajos de impermeabilización.
• Líder orientado a las personas: disfruta gestionar, capacitar y mantener estándares.
• Lectura de planos/especificaciones; enfoque sólido en seguridad.
• Licencia de conducir de CA y transporte confiable.
• Manejo de apps en teléfono/tableta para tiempo, fotos e informes; bilingüe inglés/español es un plus.
