Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking a Rollout Fiber Technician to pull and terminate fiber cabling and install network equipment across the United States. You will travel with a partner, work 7 pm–7 am, and support multiple sites on each project.

The role requires strict safety practices and the ability to lift 50+ pounds, access cramped spaces, and operate a scissor lift. The position involves extensive travel nationwide, with orientation in Lowell, AR for new hires.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Data Cable Technician.
  • Available for extensive travel nationwide.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more multiple times per shift.
  • Able to work in cramped spaces.
  • Hours of project 7 pm - 7 am 5 days a week.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Lowell, AR for new hire orientation.
  • 100% travel of the USA
  • Ability to operate a scissor lift; and ability to work at heights.
  • Fill out the work order and manage tools provided by the office.
  • Abide by PPE requirements; provide own steel-toed boots.
  • Tools required by technicians: hand tools, screwdrivers, snips, punch down, toner and probe, pliers, adjustable wrenches, joint pliers, lineman pliers.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in last three years.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and terminate low voltage cable.
  • Install network equipment within commercial settings.
  • Follow instructions and codes when pulling cable.
  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Ensure cables are neatly tied and bundled per safety regulations.
  • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks and cable racks.
  • Test to ensure all installed cable systems and devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Adhere to project safety requirements as set by Wachter, customers, or OSHA.

Wachter is accepting applications for a Rollout Fiber Technician to work at various locations across the United States. The job will consist of pulling several fibers per location and terminating multiple strands at both sites per fiber pulled.

We are seeking a self-starter who is able to work well with a partner 6 days a week. The Rollout Fiber Technician will be teamed up with a partner who will travel and work with them for the duration of the project.
