Job summary

Metallus is seeking a Rolling Mill Supervisor at the Canton Steel Plant to oversee safety, quality, and productivity across rolling mill operations. The role focuses on planning, executing programs, and guiding Supervisors and Associates to meet performance targets.

You will analyze rolling mill performance, implement process improvements, and drive cost reduction while maintaining strict safety standards and compliance with SOPs. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or engineering technology with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Harrison Rolling Mill process with respect to safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
• Plan and execute programs and projects; provide leadership to rolling mill Supervisors during normal and off-shift operations.
• Analyze rolling mill efficiency and quality issues; implement continuous improvement tactics.
• Identify deficiencies in current practices and drive quality improvement, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Train and guide new rolling mill Supervisors and Associates; provide ongoing assistance to Supervisors and Associates.
• Monitor process costs and minimize downtime and changeover times while maintaining quality and cost objectives.
