Job summary

AKER by MAAX is seeking a Roller Operator for our Martinsburg manufacturing team. This hands-on role helps consolidate fiberglass and resin, remove air pockets and ensure product quality before curing. Starting pay is $20.00/hour with a path to $22.00/hour as you qualify.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with occasional Saturdays. Training and a defined qualification path are provided, plus benefits and a strong opportunity to grow within manufacturing.

• Coordinate with teammates for resin or reinforcement as needed.
• Stop, tag or hold a unit when unsafe or out of spec.
• Maintain rollers and tools clean and in good working condition.
• Follow standard work and quality requirements.

AKER by MAAX is hiring Roller Operators for our Martinsburg manufacturing team. This is a critical, hands‑on production role where your work directly affects the strength, quality and finish of the bathware products we manufacture. Starting pay is $20.00/hour, with a path to $22.00/hour as you qualify, demonstrate the standard work and build proficiency in the role.

What You'll Do

As a Roller Operator, you will help consolidate fiberglass and resin while the material is still workable, removing trapped air, correcting defects and ensuring the product meets the required quality standard before it cures. Your work helps prevent voids, delamination, rework and scrap.

Inspect and Consolidate Fiberglass

• Inspect wet fiberglass/resin laminate for air pockets, bubbles, bridging, dry glass, wrinkles, displaced reinforcement and other defects.


• Use the correct roller, pressure, angle, sequence and overlap to consolidate material to the approved standard.


• Work critical product areas including corners, radii, edges, transitions, drain areas and reinforcement zones.


• Ensure reinforcement and model‑specific materials are properly positioned and integrated.

Correct Problems Before They Become Defects

• Correct laminate conditions while the material is still within the workable process window.


• Coordinate with other operators when additional resin, fiberglass or reinforcement is required.


• Stop, tag or hold a unit when a condition cannot be corrected safely or within standard.


• Protect the finished surface and avoid overworking or contaminating the product.


• Keep rollers and tools clean and in proper working condition.

Follow Standard Work and Quality Requirements

• Follow role‑specific standard work, safety requirements and quality specifications.


• Complete required in‑process checks and production documentation.


• Respond to recurring quality issues and communicate concerns to the team lead or supervisor.


• Maintain required ventilation, chemical‑handling, housekeeping and waste‑control practices.

Build a Real Manufacturing Skill

You do not need to arrive knowing everything about fiberglass manufacturing. We are looking for people who can learn and consistently follow standardized work, recognize quality defects and irregularities, use visual and tactile judgment, accept coaching, and work reliably as part of a team.

As you demonstrate the required standard work, quality, consistency and qualification, you can progress toward the higher end of the

Roller pay range. There is also opportunity to build broader manufacturing capability and pursue higher‑skill work over time.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required for every candidate; high school diploma or GED preferred

Realistic Job Preview

This is physical, hands‑on manufacturing work. The job may involve prolonged standing; repetitive rolling, gripping, pushing and pulling; frequent reaching, bending and twisting; regular PPE; fiberglass, resin, odors, noise and production‑floor residue; seasonal temperature changes; frequent handling of tools/materials up to 25 lb; and occasional lifting or movement up to 50 lb with team or mechanical assistance when appropriate.
