Job summary

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains 9- to 44-passenger buses.
• Completes transportation logs and reports.
• Safely transports employees to and from work sites.
• Complies with traffic laws and JRTC EXROE when in Fort Polk area.
• Performs as a JRTC Role Player when bus is used for training.
• Liaises via mobile radio; may use MILES/IPDD systems as required.
• Shifts may extend up to 16 hours and rotate between day and night.

Valiant is looking for a Role Play Bus Driver to join our team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates and maintains assigned motor vehicle ranging from 9-passenger van up to 44-passenger bus.
• Performs operator-level preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned vehicle.
• Completes and maintains required transportation logs and reports.
• Safely transports employees to and from work sites.
• Complies with local, state, and federal traffic and transportation laws.
• Complies with JRTC EXROE when transporting passengers in and through the Fort Polk training area.
• Performs duties as a JRTC Role Player when vehicle is used for JRTC training purposes.
• Routinely uses military forms and military maps.
• Frequently uses mobile radio communications.
• Length of work shift may extend up to 16 hours as required by the JRTC.
• Rotates shift work between both day or night shifts as required.
• All other duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Louisiana Class B CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Experience as a passenger bus driver.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently when needed.
• Must be able to speak clearly and calmly using radio communication systems
• Must train and become proficient in military map reading including deciphering and encoding locations using the Military Grid Reference System
• Must become proficient in military communications procedures including using the phonetic alphabet and understanding call signs, pro-words, and acronyms.
• Must be capable of being instrumented with MILES or IPDD systems in accordance with the needs of the JRTC.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the continental US and foreign countries.
• Individual will be subject to initial and random drug screening while employed with Valiant.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous work service as a Role Player.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be in good physical condition capable of prolonged sitting, standing, walking and driving.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift heavy or bulky objects up to 50 LBS.
• Must assist with passenger loading, baggage, and equipment loading/unloading.
