Job summary

Pyramid Quarry, a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Rock Truck Driver to join our team. The role involves operating straight or articulated rubber-tired rock trucks with hydraulically powered beds to transport and dump material.

A CDL is not required, offering a unique opportunity for skilled drivers seeking a non-CDL role. As part of H&K Group, you will work in a safety-conscious environment with MSHA policies, pre/post-trip inspections, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1 month related experience required.
• Verbal and written communication skills essential.
• Ability to meet physical requirements and use PPE as needed.
• Equivalent education/experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate rock truck safely to transport and dump material.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and complete daily sheets.
• Start engine, shift gears, and steer to move the truck.
• Dump material by tilting the bed and controlling movement.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the rock truck.
• Follow company policies and assist with maintenance when needed.
• Work in accordance with MSHA and H&K safety policies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Perform pre and post trip of equipment every day and fill out daily inspection sheets.
• Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate rock truck.
• Drives safely and efficiently to transport material and achieve production goals.
• Moves levers to raise and tilt truck bed to dump material.
• Performs routine maintenance on rock truck such as lubricating and cleaning.
• Perform all work following company policies and procedures.
• Cross trained to assist with maintenance when needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Education, And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR one month of related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, And Experience

• 3+ months related experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
• MSHA or other relevant safety certification
